Silver imports restricted till march 2026

The government restricts silver and precious metal jewellery imports until March 31, 2026. This action addresses a surge in imports from Thailand and other Asean countries. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade made the announcement. Rules for non-basmati rice exports are also changed. Contracts must now be registered with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority.

US brand New Balance opens expanded central Maine factory

New Balance has opened its expanded Central Maine factory in Skowhegan, adding a 120,000 sq. ft. single-story facility and renovating 20,000 sq. ft. of the original building as part of a $65 million investment.

Denmark’s apparel imports fall 6.5% in Jan–Jul, China regains top spot

Denmark’s apparel imports fell 6.55 per cent to $2.735 billion in January–July 2025, though China regained its top supplier position, overtaking Bangladesh with a 20.02 per cent share.
Imports from Bangladesh dropped three per cent. Germany, Sweden and Turkiye held their ranks as key suppliers.
Danish imports rebounded in 2024 after a 14.36 per cent fall in 2023 but have slightly eased again this year.
