EU, UK demand lifts Sri Lanka’s apparel growth in H1

Sri Lanka’s apparel and textiles exports rose 3.71 per cent year-on-year in June 2025 to $463.12 million, with first-half exports reaching $2.6 billion—up 8.19 per cent from 2024.
Apparel alone saw 5.2 per cent monthly and 8.95 per cent half-yearly growth, driven by strong gains in the EU and UK, which offset US declines.
The sector contributed nearly 40 per cent of total merchandise exports.
