Dhaka urged for urgent steps to allay risks to just climate transition

As the seventh most climate-vulnerable country, Bangladesh needs urgent steps to mitigate risks of job losses, reduced competitiveness and heightened vulnerability to climate shocks, a report commissioned by Laudes Foundation and H&M Foundation said.
A holistic approach is needed to decarbonise, build resilience and secure the long-term competitiveness of the textile and apparel sectors, it noted.

VF Corporation has reported $2.83 billion revenue in Q3 FY25, a 2 per cent YoY increase.

US’ Levi Strauss & Co posts $1.8 bn Q4 revenue, up 12% YoY

Levi Strauss & Co has reported Q4 2024 net revenues of $1.8 billion, up 12 per cent reported and 8 per cent organically.
Americas, Europe, and Asia saw revenue growth, though Asia’s operating income declined.
DTC sales surged 19 per cent, while wholesale grew 7 per cent.
FY 2024 net revenues hit $6.4 billion (+3 per cent YoY), with net income at $211 million and free cash flow at $671 million.

Canada’s apparel imports from Cambodia up 9.6%, trousers on top

Canadian apparel imports from Cambodia grew by 9.60 per cent during January–November 2024, reaching $976.655 million.
Trousers and shorts led with a 33.28 per cent share, followed by jerseys at 24.08 per cent.
Canada imported $452.660 million in cotton garments (46.35 per cent) and $418.995 million in man-made garments (42.90 per cent).
Imports had peaked at $1,253.715 million in 2022.

Cambodia’s garments, footwear, travel goods exports up 23% YoY in 2024

Cambodia exported a total of $13.92 billion worth of garments, footwear and travel goods (GFT) last year—a rise of 23 per cent YoY, a report from the ministry of commerce said.
Garment exports were valued at $9.79 billion last year—a YoY increase of 24 per cent.
Footwear exports rose by 23 per cent YoY to $1.68 billion, while travel goods exports surged by 19.6 per cent YoY to $1.95 billion.
