New Zealand’s apparel imports up 3.77% in Jan-Sept 2025

New Zealand’s apparel imports rose 3.77 per cent YoY to NZ$1.56 billion in January–September 2025, showing gradual trade recovery.
Growth was led by knitted apparel and stronger fabric demand, while volumes fell 5.6 per cent due to higher prices.
Analysts attribute this to elevated sourcing costs, inflation, and a shift towards premium apparel from China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, India, and Australia.

US’ Carter’s Q3 FY25 sales edge down 0.1% to $757.8 mn

American apparel company Carter’s, Inc, has reported flat Q3 FY25 sales at $757.8 million, while profit fell sharply due to higher tariffs and restructuring costs.
Net income dropped to $11.6 million from $58.3 million, with adjusted EPS down to $0.74.
The company plans 300 job cuts and 150 store closures to save $35 million annually, while tariffs are expected to impact Q4 earnings by $25–35 million.

US tariffs to cut FY26 Indian leather sector revenue by 10-12%: Crisil

India’s leather and allied products industry will see its revenue drop by 10-12 per cent YoY in FY26 as the 50-per cent US tariff will slash export volume, Crisil Ratings said.
Operating profitability will slide by 150-200 bps, driven by headwinds in the export segment and the muted operating performance will weaken credit profiles.
Exporters are exploring new markets and shifting/outsourcing production.

India’s PDS Limited reports 18% GMV growth & strong Q2 performance

India’s PDS Limited has reported an 18 per cent rise in GMV to ₹5,467 crore (~$619.2 million) in Q2 FY26, with revenue up 14 per cent and PAT surging 142 per cent to ₹48 crore.
The order book reached ₹5,308 crore (~$601.1 million), up 15 per cent YoY.
Improved working capital efficiency generated ₹593 crore in cash flow, and the board declared an interim dividend of ₹1.65 per share.
